“तथापि मद्भजनमेवान्यदेवताभजनाद् वरम्, इति दर्शयति - त्रैविद्या इत्यादिना ||” - Even then he shows that worshipping the supreme Lord rather than propitiation of other gods is superior, thus Sri Krishna demonstrates here.
“अनन्याः अन्यदचिन्तयित्वा | तथा हि गौतमखिलेषु - सर्वे परित्यज्य मनोगतं यद् विना देवं केवलं शुद्धमाद्यम् | ये चिन्तयन्तीह तमेव धीरा अनन्यास्ते देवमेवाऽविशन्ति || इति | कामः कालेन महता एकान्तित्वात् समाहितैः | शक्यो द्रष्टुं स भगवान् प्रभासन्दृप्यमण्डलः || इति मोक्षधर्मे | नित्यमभितः सर्वतो युक्तानाम् ||” - अनन्य means those who do not think of anyone else, thus in Gautam Section: “Renouncing all the desires in mind, when nothing else than the Pure, Primal Lord is reflected upon, they the thinkers, verily, being ananya attain Me”. Thus in Moksha Dharma, “By desires which are superior to time, being in communion with all faculties concentrated, it is possible to see the Resplendent Lord, enveloped in the circle of the Light.” Ever, in all respects, with all equanimity.
To remove the doubt Sri Krishna explains that “He is the subject of all the sacrifices”.

Gītā Tātparya NirṇayaSanskritEnglishOn verses 9.20–9.23
“अनन्यदेवतायागाद् भक्त्युद्रेकादकामनात् | सदा योगाच्च वैशिष्ट्यं त्रैविद्याद् वैष्णवादपि || स्याद्वि भगवतस्यैव तेन ब्रह्मादयोऽखिलाः | अश्वमेधादिभिर्ज्ञैरपि केशवयाजिनः || वैष्णवा इति बुद्ध्यैव मानयन्त्यन्यदेवताः || इत्याग्नेये | सम्यग् गुणगणज्ञानादुपासा पर्युपासना || इति च |” - Superior to those who worship other gods through sacrifices mentioned in the three Vedas encouraged by the fruits thereof, are those Vaishnavas (devotees of Vishnu), who without any desires in mind, being equanimous with Me are in communion with Me. Therefore, the worship of Brahma and other gods, performance of ashwamedha (horse-sacrifice) etc., are also sacrifices to Keshava, since they have Sri Vishnu as the goal. Men of Wisdom consider such devotees as, verily, Vaishnavas, thus, in Agni Puraana. Performance of meditation (up asana) knowing such extensive attributes of the Supreme Self, is itself the supreme meditation.

English23 "Those devotees likewise who, endowed with faith, offer worship unto other Divinities: they, O Son of Kunti, offer service, (albeit) not in the prescribed mode, unto none but myself. (344)
There are also other paths; but they fall short of realising My all-pervading being. They perform sacrifices to Fire, Indra, the Sun and the Moon. Those sacrifices (ultimately) come unto Me, since I am myself the entire universe. Yet this way of worship is not a straight path, but uneven. Branches and leaves spring from one and the same tree; yet water is to be sucked in by the roots, and hence it is only proper to water the roots; or there are the ten organs of one and the same body, and everything taken in by them goes to one and the same root of life; yet would it do were one to stuff rich food in the ears, or flowers tied over the eyes? Nay the food must be relished in the mouth and fragrance by the nose. In that way one must worship Me in My being true and entire. Otherwise any worship done, not knowing My true self, is a vain fruitless effort, and so there must be for every action, the vision of knowledge and that vision must also be clear and unblurred.

English'Ye'pyanyadevatā bhaktā yajante śraddhayānvitāḥ'—These devotees, who have not realized, that the Lord is all-being and non-being, (Gītā 9/19) worship other gods, because they think that other gods are apart from and independent of Him, and that by their grace they will gain everything.
'Te'pi māmeva kaunteya yajantyavidhipūrvakam'—Devotees, who worship other gods, actually worship Him, because, in the whole universe, there is nothing besides, Him. Therefore, their worship to other gods is worship to Him, only, but that is a mistaken approach. The Lord, by the expression 'Yajantyavidhipūrvakam', does not mean that they do not possess knowledge—what sort of worship—materials, what sacred text, should be used, and what
sort of worship, should be done. But, it means, that they regard other gods separate, from the Lord. They worship other gods, because their wisdom has been led astray, by desires (Gītā 7/20). But the fact is, that whatever power, the other gods have, has come to them, from the Lord, and so it is only, His power.
It means that, if a devotee worships any deity, regarding him as the Lord, without having any desire for fruit, that will be worship to God, and it will lead him to God-realization. Secondly, if he worships the Lord, with a desire, he will be regarded as a devotee—a seeker of worldly objects, a sufferer etc., whom the Lord has called noble, (Gītā 7/18).
In fact, all is God. So every kind of worship, service and good, offered to others, is only an offering to God. As rainwater, in the form of a stream, river and waterfall etc., flows into the sea (because that water comes from the sea and belongs to the sea), whomever, a devotee worships, he worships, only God.
**Appendix**—‘Traividyā mām’ (9/20), ‘Ananyāścintayanto mām’ (9/22) and ‘te’pi māmeva’ (9/23)—the Lord has used the term ‘mām’ in these three verses which means that all is God, therefore the Lord knows all as His manifestation. If a striver has no desire and beholds God in all, he may worship anyone, that is indeed the worship to God. It means that if he has the disinterested motive and regards other gods as the manifestation of God, then his worship to gods will not remain the mistaken approach but will be worship to God only.
In the seventh chapter the term ‘devayajah’ was used (7/23), the same has been mentioned here as ‘yajante’.

Swami Ramsukhdas · Modern
In the light of the principle that all entities are Krishna’s modalities and He alone is the ultimate existence; names like ‘Indra’ primarily denote Krishna alone. The worshippers of Indra and other deities therefore ultimately worship Krishna only, in ways not sanctioned by the Shastras i.e. they do not worship Indra and other divinities with a proper understanding of the place of these deities in the light of the Vedanta texts. An example is:—
“Wherein (ie., in the Supreme Self) the sacrifices known as the Catur Hotri attain their fulfilment through the gods.” (Tai. Ar. 3:11:1) etc.
The meaning [of this verse] is that in the Catur-hotri sacrifice like Agni-hotra, the full moon and the new moon sacrifices etc., it is the Supreme Being only that is worshipped, as He is the very Self of Indra and the others who are the ostensible subjects of worship in these sacrifices by which these worshippers obtain their aims.
Therefore, the votaries of the three Vedas do not understand that these rituals are intended for the worship of the Supreme Being and that He alone is to be worshipped. Due to their lack of insight they experience limited results, and are again liable to fall into Samsāra. Śrī Krishna says further:—
