Here in this world He is spread over in all entirety as Aum, therefore made reference in Vedas with respect. Thus, in the subsidiary chapter of Rigveda - He is सत्, since without any defects and is completely auspicious - “He (sat), verily, my dear, was there in the beginning”, “Aum, that is Brahman”. For propitiation of the Self by indicating the Vedic injunctions and Himself being referred subsequently.

English18 “When, to win reverence, honour, or adoration, austerity is practised, or through ostentation: that (austerity) is here declared as Rajas-dominated (as) being transient and unsteady. (242)
Austerities practised at great hardship and posing one’s superiority (creating duality) are Rajas-dominated for establishing austerity to be able to occupy the top-ranking position, or for securing the first seat of honour in conferences and dinner parties without allowing anyone else to secure it, or (practised) with the motive that one should be qualified for universal praise or that the universe should make his home a place of pilgrimage, or for enabling himself to enjoy, to the exclusion of others, all homage from the people and all ceremonial, or for enhancing his own (market) value by giving his body and speech a coating of austerity, in the way an ugly-looking one should adorn himself with fine dress and ornaments. In short any austerities practised with a longing for riches and honour are called Rajas austerities. An animal affected with cattle disease (Pahurni-पहुरणी) yields no milk even after giving birth to its young: or a standing-crop in a field does not come to maturity or yield any grain if allowed to be grazed by cattle in its premature stage. In that way, any austerities practised with great tom-tomming and pomp, become entirely fruitless; and seeing that his austerities are futile, he leaves them incomplete, Oh Son of Pāṇḍu; therefore they have no steadfastness about them. Unseasonal clouds, covering a vast area and making a deep and powerful thunder in the sky, disturb the universe; yet do they last long? In that way, the Rajas-austerity turns out fruitless and barren, and is not besides, practised to its completion. And if it is a Tamas activity, it deprives one of fame in this world as well as in the other world (Heaven).

English'Satkāramānapūjārthaṁ tapaḥ kriyate'—People of rājasa temperament, perform sacrifice, in order to win respect, honour and reverence, in society. They expect others to respect them, as men of penance, possessing self-control, truth and non-violence. They perform it, so that people may bow to them, wash their feet, offer flowers and garlands to them, wave lights before them, and touch their forehead with the dust of their feet. During their life, and after death, they may have a funeral procession with grandeur, make monument, and offer flowers, sandalwood paste, water and clothes etc., to monuments.
'Dambhena caiva yat'—Though they have no faith in penances, yet they perform these, for the sake of show. They sit cross-legged, start counting the beads of a rosary and worshipping God, by way of ostentation.
'Tadīha proktam rājāsam calamadhruvam'—The fruit of rājasa penance, is said to be uncertain and perishable. It means, that a penance which is performed in order to win respect, honour and reverence bears perishable fruit, while penance which is performed for ostentation, may bear fruit or not, and the ostentation may be, a success or not.
The expression 'Iha proktam,' means that a person gets the reward of the rājasika penance, here in the world. Sāttvika people, go to higher regions—heaven etc., the tāmasika, descend to lower regions—hell etc., while the rājasika, remain in the middle regions (Gītā 14/18). Therefore, rājasika penance, bears fruit here, in the form of respect, honour and praise.
Can a rājasika person perform penance of the body, mind and speech? He can worship the gods, by expecting a reward. He can be gentle and can study scriptures. But he cannot observe celibacy and non-violence. He cannot be placid and cheerful, because projection and distraction of the mind, disturb him, because of his desire. Moreover, how can his nature be pure, when he performs penance, in order to win respect, honour and reverence? So a rājasika person, cannot perform, the threefold penance fully.

Swami Ramsukhdas · Modern
